Golf Holidays In Siem Reap

Siem Reap offers one of Southeast Asia’s most distinctive golf holidays, combining quality championship golf with the extraordinary temples of Angkor. It is not a high-volume golf destination like Bangkok or Hua Hin, but that is part of its appeal: golfers can play excellent courses in the morning and spend the afternoon exploring one of the world’s great cultural destinations.

The leading course is Angkor Golf Resort, an 18-hole, par-72 championship layout designed by Sir Nick Faldo. The course stretches to 7,279 yards and features generous fairways, bold bunkering, water hazards and subtly contoured greens. It is conveniently located close to Siem Reap and Angkor Wat.

However, there is an important current update for your listings: Angkor Golf Resort is temporarily closed from 1 June 2026 for renovation and restructuring, with no reopening date yet announced. Another major option is Phokeethra Country Club, set in the countryside outside Siem Reap. It remains open while its clubhouse undergoes renovation during 2026, making it particularly important for Siem Reap golf packages at the moment.

The prime golf season is generally November through February, during Cambodia’s cooler and drier period. Siem Reap temperatures during this season are commonly in the high 20s Celsius, making early morning golf particularly pleasant.

March through May becomes considerably hotter, with temperatures capable of reaching the high 30s or around 40°C. The wetter season generally runs from May or June through October, although rain often arrives in afternoon bursts rather than lasting all day.

This is what makes Siem Reap such a compelling destination.

Golfers can tee off early and spend the later part of the day exploring temples, which makes Siem Reap unusually easy to combine into a golf-and-cultural itinerary.

In the evenings, the city offers restaurants, bars, night markets, spas and the lively Pub Street precinct. Travellers can also visit floating villages on Tonlé Sap Lake, take countryside tours, experience traditional Khmer cuisine or spend a day relaxing at their resort.

For couples, it is particularly strong because there is more than enough to occupy a non-golfer while their partner plays.
