Golf Holidays In Hobart
Hobart combines excellent golf with one of Australia’s most distinctive city-break experiences. Set between the River Derwent and kunanyi / Mount Wellington, Tasmania’s capital gives golfers easy access to scenic coastal and parkland courses while also serving as a gateway to some of southern Tasmania’s emerging world-class golf experiences.
Golfers love Hobart because a golf trip here can be about much more than the rounds themselves. Courses can be combined with exceptional food, Tasmanian wine, whisky, waterfront dining and spectacular scenery, making Hobart particularly attractive for couples and groups wanting a complete golf holiday rather than simply a golf-only itinerary.
Away from the course, explore Hobart’s historic waterfront and Salamanca Place, visit MONA, take in the views from kunanyi / Mount Wellington or spend a day exploring the wineries and produce of the Coal River Valley. Port Arthur and the Tasman Peninsula also make excellent additions to a longer golf itinerary.
Hobart’s restaurants, seafood, markets, distilleries and relaxed waterfront atmosphere make it an easy destination in which to add extra nights before or after a golf tour.
Hobart has a cool temperate climate with four distinct seasons. Summer, particularly December through February, generally provides the warmest and longest days for golf. Autumn can also be an excellent time to visit, with cooler conditions and attractive scenery. Winter is considerably cooler, while spring brings longer days but can be changeable.
Tasmanian weather can shift quickly at any time of year, so golfers should be prepared for wind, sunshine and cooler conditions during the same round.
